A search to simply verify existence of a Massachusetts divorce record [we notify you via email] is $35. A search and photocopy of the actual Massachusetts divorce record [decree] is $45. A search and photocopy of the actual Massachusetts divorce record [decree] and the agreement is $65.

A search and certified copy of a Massachusetts divorce record decree, or the "Certificate Of Absolute" [aka the "NISI"] is $75. A search and certified copy of a Massachusetts divorce decree, the "Certificate Of Absolute" [aka the "NISI"] and a photocopy of the divorce agreement is $100.

If the specific divorce date (or year) is unknown, searches include a one time search for up to a ten year period, i.e., 1961 - 1970. Each type of record, either certified or photocopied, includes searching one county court search in Massachusetts. There is an additional search fee of $25 for each additional court searched. We can not obtain impounded divorce record files nor can we obtain the private financial statements of ANY divorce record.

FORMAT REQUESTED	The decree is a one page document that allows for the divorce. There is no detail beyond date and names. The divorce agreement is the official terms of the divorce, including such issues as property ownership and custody. (Divorce agreements can be as small as one page or as large as hundreds of pages. The average is 10 - 15.) The certified "Certificate Of Absolute" is needed for situations such as remarriage, citizenship matters, social security filings and passports. In most of those cases, the agreement is not needed. The certified "NISI" and the photocopied agreement is what is needed for situations such as tax issues and child support.
